Bellingham, WA- May 1, 2014- Bellingham Aviation Services, a leading aviation organization in the Pacific Northwest, now offers Helicopter tours and enhanced Helicopter training at Bellingham International Airport.

"BAS is thrilled to be able to offer our customers an amazing helicopter experience. The spectacular scenic beauty of the Pacific Northwest can now be showcased from either a 2 or 4 seater Robinson Helicopter” said Vanessa Oliver-Nielsen, President of BAS. “By adding Helicopter Tours to our credentials, we are meeting a much needed demand for the tourism industry in Whatcom County. We are also increasing awareness to the general public of the other businesses and General Aviation at Bellingham Airport. We are not just the commercial airlines.”

For the past 10 years, Bellingham Aviation Services has been providing Scenic Flights, Photo Flights, and Flight Instruction at Bellingham International Airport. With the recent addition of a Robinson R44 to the fleet of aircraft and the approval from the FAA, BAS can now meet the increased demand at the airport for helicopter tours.

“We have different tours available within a 25 nautical mile radius from Bellingham Airport which covers the San Juan islands, Skagit valleys, Mt Baker and the North Cascades. Prices vary and are based on the length of the tour. Pilots are fully trained with safety being their foremost priority and of course, all flights are weather dependent.”

The Robinson R22 and the R44 helicopters are most known for combining comfort and reliability with light-weight design and enhanced safety features. The R22 is a two-seater and the R44 is a four-seater helicopter, both ideally suited for rotorcraft training and transportation.

"The addition of the R44 to our rotocraft training program shows our commitment to providing a well-rounded training program of the highest quality, while maintaining a professional environment and enjoyable place to learn," added Nielsen.
